Nordic Noir

I've enjoyed the Nordic drama series shown on television in the last decade - Borgen; The Legacy; and the crime series The Killing, and The Bridge. I loved all three series of Wallander made by Yellow Bird TV with Krister  Henriksson in the lead role.

I enjoy Nordic fiction too, and am especially looking forward to the publication by Crux of Bogman by debut crime writer R. I. Olufsen. I like the synopsis:

When a mummified foot, a pile of bones and a split skull are discovered in a bog north of Aarhus, in East Jutland, is it a case for the police or archaeologists? It quickly becomes a case for golf-loving Chief Inspector Tobias Lange when it is confirmed that the remains are those of a young male, early twenties, beaten to death with a blunt instrument about two decades earlier. Who killed the Bogman?

As the investigation gets under way, Tobias finds himself on the trail of eco-warriors, Sami protesters safeguarding reindeer rights in Lapland and a disaffected young woman estranged from her family. Then another incomplete set of human bones turns up in Gellerupparken, and then another.

As Lange plunges deeper into a murky world of prostitution and illegal immigrants in his hunt for the killer, he starts to fear for his eco-warrior daughter Agnes….
